According to popular legend the ancient Mayan civilization's calendar predicted that the world would come to an end on December 21, 2012. Their prediction noted that on this particular date the earth would be ravaged by cataclysmic astronomical events that would essentially end mankind's time here on this earth.

The Bible teaches that the day will come when things as we know them here on this earth will cease to exist but Jesus stated in Matthew 24:36 "of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only." This world as we know it may not cease to exist in 2012 as the Mayans have predicted, but the Bible is clear in Revelation 1:3 that the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ "is at hand."

With the imminent retur n of Christ on our mind, Scripture teaches us in Ephesians 5:15-16 that believers are to "walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil." The end of the world may not be December 21, 2012. It may be much sooner. Are you ready for His return?

The 7th Annual Great Lakes Youth Conference will enable you to focus for three days this summer on how to face the catastrophe that awaits this doomed earth with a faith that produces great hope and confidence.

"Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ." Titus 2:13
